Isikhumba sethuilawulwa amandla amaningi njengoba sikhula: ilanga, isimo sezulu esibi, nemikhuba emibi. Kodwa singathatha izinyathelo zokusiza isikhumba sethu sihlale sithambile futhi sibukeka sisisha.
Ukuthi ubudala besikhumba sakho buzoncika kanjani ezintweni ezihlukahlukene: indlela yakho yokuphila, ukudla, ufuzo, neminye imikhuba yomuntu siqu. Isibonelo, ukubhema kungakhiqiza ama-radicals mahhala, ama-molecule e-oksijini ayenempilo manje asebenza ngokweqile futhi angazinzile. Ama-radicals wamahhala alimaza amangqamuzana, okuholela, phakathi kwezinye izinto, imibimbi ngaphambi kwesikhathi.

Yiziphi izinhlobo zezinguquko zesikhumba eziza nobudala?
- Njengoba sikhula, izinguquko ezifana nalezi ziyenzeka ngokwemvelo:
- Isikhumba siyaqina.
- Isikhumba siba nezilonda ezinjengamathumba.
- Isikhumba siyaxega. Ukulahlekelwa kwezicubu ezinwebekayo (i-elastin) esikhumbeni ngokukhula kubangela ukuba isikhumba silenga ngokukhululeka.
- Isikhumba siba sobala kakhulu. Lokhu kubangelwa ukuncipha kwe-epidermis (ungqimba olungaphezulu lwesikhumba).
- Isikhumba siba ntekenteke kakhulu. Lokhu kubangelwa ukuncipha kwendawo lapho i-epidermis nedermis (ungqimba lwesikhumba ngaphansi kwe-epidermis) kuhlangana khona.
- Isikhumba siba nemihuzuko kalula. Lokhu kungenxa yezindonga zemithambo yegazi ezacile.
